Traditionally, Economics has been be broken down into Microeconomics, which studies individual economic agents and markets, and Macroeconomics, which focuses on the behaviors of the national or global economy. Econometrics, which is another overarching branch of economics, concentrates on quantitative methodologies to provide empirical evidences. Another analytical tools would be Mathematics and Big data techniques that endlessly converse with economic theories, current issues, and histories to reflect the real world. Indeed, given the long-pending issues and currently urgent affairs, the Department offers optional courses such as Cultural Economics, Defense Economics, Derivative Markets, Development Economics, Financial Markets, Health Economics, International Finance, Labor Economics, Public Economics, The Korean Economy, Trade Business etc. All renders Economics both an absorber of sciences and thought-provoking value-oriented guides.
