Introduction
The Department of Data Science aims to cultivate technology experts with competent, creative data analytic skills by providing indepth experience in developing software applications. In order to accomplish such educational goals, the department provides students with a curriculum emphasizing the acquisition of basic, comprehensive concepts first. Then it develops those abilities to apply to data analysis in both the software (data analysis) and hardware (high-speed high-volume data analysis). The list of courses open to students includes core computer science courses together with statistics, data collection & analysis, visualization, high-speed data processing, and machine learning, all of which are the basis of data analysis. As the need for data analysis and SW development is rapidly rising, Data Science is a cutting-edge department in which graduates have a variety of opportunities in diverse industries as well as in the fields of science and technology.

The Department of Data Science was created in 2017 to nurture data technology specialists. The curriculum is based on programming skills, and thus graduation requires a working knowledge in basic programming, data structures and algorithms.
