Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Acquiring the underlying knowledge of mechanical and aerospace engineering
Introduction
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is divided into two majors, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, the foundations for aerospace and mechanical industries, respectively. Mechanical engineering is an academic field which researches scientific principles related to all machines and studies their design, development, and production processes as well as the commercialization of these principles. Aerospace engineering is an academic field which studies the engineering problem of flying objects navigating in the atmosphere or in space. Based on intensive theory education, experiments, and on the job training, our department aims to foster professional and creative talent to engage in the field of mechanical engineering, which formed the foundation of our nation’s industry, and aerospace engineering, which is recently establishing itself as a cutting-edge industry. In addition, our Mechanical Engineering major has been participating in the engineering certification (ABEEK) program since 2007.
