Postponing the Semester

While the documented semester will follow current university regulations, the actual starting date will be postponed for 2 weeks, and the academic schedule will be delayed and shortened accordingly. The 16 week course will be reduced to 15 weeks.

Class Management Procedures for the Spring Semester

15-week classes

- Class syllabuses should be fixed to fit the 15 week semester(adjustment period : March 2, 2020(Mon) ~ March 13(Fri))

- The adjusted syllabuses must clarify that the first 2 weeks of lectures will be done online

- Classes that are under 15 weeks must have a make-up class(classes allocated at Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will need 1 make-up class))

The first seven(two) weeks of the semester(March 16~May 3) will be done only through online classes(Classrooms cannot be used)

- Extending the online class period will be considered, based on the spread of Corona 19(additional guidelines will be announced if extended)

Classes will only be counted when using Sejong Universitys online classroom platform: Blackboard(http://blackboard.sejong.ac.kr)


Guidelines for Attendance

Students unable to attend classes due to quarantine or delayed entry by Corona 19 will receive attendance with the appropriate documentation.

Students staying in Korea with symptoms suspected of Corona 19 will receive attendance with the appropriate documentation, even if they are not entrants.

Definition of online attendance: Lecture videos must be viewed for over 20 minutes during the attendance period

The information for attendance must be uploaded to the online attendance system by the instructor

Postponing semesters for freshmen/transfer students

The first semester can be postponed for freshmen and transfer students that reside overseas, and cannot enter due to infections, etc.

Restrictions on taking a semester off for enrolled students* will be eased to minimize penalties to foreign students.

(* Enrolled students that (1) cannot enter Korea, or (2) are diagnosed with the Corona 19 infection)
