All international students are required to sign up for an international health insurance plan to help protect themselves from high or unexpected healthcare expenses incurred by diseases such as flu epidemics. Sejong University has made it mandatory for all international students to purchase insurance plans.
All international students are required to sign up for one of the following types of insurance plans:
1) Medical insurance plan from overseas country
2) Medical insurance plan available in Korea
3) The National Health Insurance ‣For details about the National Health Insurance, please refer to the website at: http://www.nhic.or.kr/portal/site/main
4) SJU’s Recommended Insurance Plan ○ Insurance company: Hyundai Insurance ○ Covered period: 1 March, 2020 ~31 August, 2020 (6 months) ○ Premium: 51,000 won (Male) / 57,900 won (Female) ○ Coverage: http://plus-insurance.co.kr/eindex.php (-Coverage: Select your language-Choose “Product”-Select “Sejong University) (-Registration Information: Select your language-Choose “My information”-Log in with your ID) (-Claim: Select your language-Choose “Claim”-Select “Hyundai”-Fill your application form)
○ You are required to sign up when you make the tuition payment. However, you will get a refund if you submit proof of current insurance. ○ Deadline to apply for a refund: 16 March – 10 April 2020 ○ Documents to submit for a refund 1) insurance waiver form 2) photocopy of current insurance 3) photocopy of bank account book
