<Important Notes for Spring 2019>

1. Students are allowed to select up to 5 universities when applying. Screening criteria is GPA (40%) + Official Language Proficiency Test score (40%) + Document & Interview (20%) + Additional points (if applicable).
2. The additional points will be given to those students listed below. In case there are several items that apply to you, it will be recognized only up to three (3) points in total.
- Three (3) points: Sejong Honors Program, 4-year Admission Scholarship, and Military Scholarship students
- Two (2) points: Sejong Global Buddy, Summer/ Winter Outbound Program, Intensive Language Program, Japanese Class run by OIA, and Student Council Executive students
3. The minimum language requirement of some universities changes. Please refer to the table below for details.
4. There are language programs for any students who are not ready to take regular courses in English/ local language.
5. Chinese student can apply for exchange program at Changchun University of Science & Technology, Yanbian University of Science & Technology in China, Dayeh University, and Fung Chia University in Taiwan, and  Hong Kong Baptist University in Hong Kong.


<Program Types>

> Exchange Student: Pay full tuition to home university; tuition to partner university is fully waived
   - Regional Expert: Pay 50% of tuition to home university (50% waived as scholarship); tuition to partner university is fully waived
> Visiting Student: Pay 30% of tuition to home university (70% waived as part of the international exchange scholarship); pay full tuition to partner university
> Dual Degree: Pay 30% of tuition to home university (70% waived as scholarship); pay full tuition to partner university; students to transfer to third year of the partner school's undergraduate program to earn a degree from both universities
 
※ For schools that offer a "Language Course," you may participate in the program as an Exchange or Visiting Student majoring in language training.
※ The number of students and/or language requirements, etc. are subject to change.
※ Partner university has the authority to accept the shortlisted candidate as an exchange student for their exchange program.


<Eligibilities>

 A. A Sejong University student (Anyone currently in his/her first semester is also allowed to apply for this program)
  ※ For transfer students – you can apply for this program although it is your first semester at Sejong University.
  ※ You can still apply even if you are on a leave of absence at the point of application. However, you must be an enrolled student for the participating semester.
  ※ You must complete the last semester (immediate before graduation) at Sejong University.
 B. Student whose GPA (including the 2018 spring semester's one) is 3.0/4.5 or higher (in case of applying for university in Asian countries, 2.5/4.5 is acceptable.)
 C. Student who meets the language requirement of each university (TOEIC minimum score is mostly 700 for European universities and 600 for Asian universities. Please check the exact requirement of each university below.) 
 D. No record of being disciplined under the university rules.
 E. No disqualifying reason for international travel (conditions for visa application); must be able to obtain a passport by the time of the interview.
 F. If you are applying to a school in Japan, you need to be able to participate in the Japanese language classes offered at Sejong University and also reach a certain level of Japanese language ability before you leave.
 G. A printout of the screenshot showing your test score is acceptable at the time of application, but you need to submit the original report by the time of the interview.


<Scholarship Programs for Outbound Students>
※ You may receive this in addition to your merit-based scholarship. However, the total amount received may not exceed the amount of the tuition fee. You are not eligible if you are participating in study abroad program at your excess semester (9th or more).

1. Regional expert student scholarship:Sejong University applies a 50% waiver to the amount due to Sejong for the exchange students who study in Vietnam, Indonesia, India and Philippines.
2. Visiting student scholarship: Visiting student is required to pay tuition fees to both universities. In order to make it more affordable, Sejong University applies a 70% waiver to the amount due to Sejong.


<How to apply online>

★ Go to: portal.sejong.ac.kr and sign in → General Administrative Information → Page opens in a new tab (Student Service) → International Exchange → Outbound Student Management → Fill out the application form
※ Be sure to update your English name (same as in your passport), phone number and email address in the student information.
※ Be sure to choose right university and program type (exchange, visiting, regular course, language course, etc.). The university and program type are unchageable after the due date for online application.
※ When you apply online, be sure to upload your study plan, letter of oath, agreement of use of personal information form and official language test score.


<Credit Recognition>

A. A minimum 6 credits & a maximum 18 credits
B. All overseas exchange credits will be recognized as P/N (except for the dual-degree program).
C. The head professor of the student’s department will review the course syllabus, etc. and give approval for credits for major courses (either required or elective) up to 18 credits. Others will be recognized as credits for liberal art courses.
