Voice Phishing Alert! Recently, voice phishing crimes targeting foreign students have frequently occurred. We would like to ask for special attention from foreign students studying at Sejong University. Case1. Voice phishing disguised as tuition fee exchange / payment - "A" used a private exchange illegal agency to remit tuition fee from overseas to Korea. Private currency exchange agency provided cheaper exchange rates, and it was faster and more convenient than direct remittance from a bank. However, they paid the tuition fee for "A" with the money they received through voice phishing, not the money they received from "A". While looking into the flow of voice phishing money, the police found Sejong University virtual account of "A". - There is also a case where tuition fee exchange / payment through friends or acquaintances was used for voice phishing crimes. Case2. Part-time delivery job - "B" recently found a part-time job that paid a lot of money, and delivered the goods twice according to the company's instructions. However, this delivery item was voice phishing money, and "B" is being investigated by the police. - Delivering voice phishing money is a serious crime and is severely punished by law. Please be careful not to be involved in voice phishing crimes. Thank you. |
