Introduction

The English Language and Literature major at Sejong University aims to cultivate the students’ insights into the English language, their knowledge about British and American literature and cultures, and their skills using the English language. The English Language and Literature major consists of four fields, which include English Literature, English Linguistics, English Translation, and English Education. This major overall offers literature courses about British and American poetry, novels, and dramas, and it offers linguistics courses about English phonetics and phonology, English syntax and semantics, and practical English courses, such as discussion and presentation, composition, grammar, and translation. In addition, there is also an English education program for future English teachers.
