Introduction

The Department of Chemistry aims to foster top-notch chemists who have both theoretical and practical skills. This is achieved by providing the students with a comprehensive education in regards to chemical knowledge in conjunction with opportunities to participate in high-quality chemistry experiments. The Department of Chemistry provides a program where students can acquire extensive knowledge about various subjects, which include physical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biological chemistry, and they can develop research skills that are directly applicable to many advanced applied chemistry fields, such as the environment, nano-polymer chemistry, new medicine, material science, and biomolecules. Graduates from this department will be able to demonstrate their core competencies in the cutting-edge chemistry fields or bio-related institutions, which include companies, research institutes, government agencies, and schools.

Career Path after Graduation

Graduates from the Department of Chemistry can be employed in a wide range of fields, which include pharmaceutical, bioengineering, advanced materials engineering, semiconductors, food and beverages, paper manufacturing, oil painting, cosmetics, and environmental industries.

Graduates can also become teachers by acquiring a secondary teaching license. They can also obtain the license to become a chemical analysis engineer or an explosive handling engineer, which provide other career opportunities. Continuing to graduate studies and earning a master’s degree can make it easier for graduates to work in research institutes in the related fields.
